Libraries are limited, obsolete

October 9, 2006

This opinion piece was published in the October 2nd edition of the Lawrence Journal-World in Lawrence, Kansas. It was written by Mark Hirschey, a professor at the University of Kansas Business School. The article argues against the building of a new public library in Lawrence because, among other things, libraries fall behind the Internet in providing convenient information and a single librarian shouldn’t be trusted as a source of information over “multiple information providers” that provide a diversity of views. Is this true? Read the article and leave us a comment letting us know what you think about this issue.
